Dear we have a Windows XP machine, since we no longer want to connect it to a network (updates ...) we are looking for a solution to print color to a PDF via the LPT port, how do we set up the retro printer and which driver we must use on the XP machine
Greetings Joram (from Belgium)

Re: Windows XP To PDF from LPT1
The Retro-Printer is not really designed for use with a Windows XP machine as the Windows printer drivers output everything as bitmaps.
You are better using a Windows software only solution which captures and redirects the printer port from within Windows itself - we use QPCPrint for this, although you could also look at Printfil.
If you want a hardware based solution, then you can try the Retro-Printer, but it is a matter of chosing an old (PCL-3) HP or Epson printer driver and hoping Windows XP does not convert these to pure bitmaps.
