Retroprinter for Amstrad CPC 6128 only producing in black and white

Post by AmstradCPCcool »

Hi there,

I've started printing pictures using the Retroprinter with my Amstrad but they are only coming out in black and white, and not colour.

Can the Retroprinter only print in black and white or have I not adjusted a setting ?

No colour ESC/P2 commands are supported - I assume you are using software which assumes it has an Epson printer attached?

Does the Epson printer output in colour? It depends on whether the software you are running on the Amstrad supports colour and the Epson ink codes to replicate colour printing!

Hi there,

Didn't realise that colour wasn't supported. The software I'm using Rainbird's 'Advanced Art Studio' gives a choice of printers Epson and Amstrad DMP-1 but I assumed it supported colour,

Can you recommend any art/drawing programs that would support colour on the Amstrad CPC?

I can't suggest anything unfortunately - I have never been an Amstrad fan!
