Ken,

The easiest thing would be for you to use anydesk or similar to let me access your pc remotely - I don't have any setups similar to you - but it is very odd that you cannot use bitvise. The device name in the screenshot is wrong Retro-Printer OR the IP address for the device.

CUPS allows you to do a test print in the administer printers page - plenty of online videos to show how to use CUPS

Have you looked at adding the Retro-Printer as a windows network drive so you can see what is being captured? Step by step guide in the manual on how to do this.

Hi there, I didn't get to work to much on it today, had to get the heater fix (which is in the attic). A high power cable inside the unit overheated and melted the insulation, which you could smell in the middle of the night. Also the circuit breaker was to big for the unit. This could have started a house fire. It's fix. Anyway, at the end of the day, I decide I would update the software. Guess, what, that was the whole problem to begin with. I was then able to use Bitvise with "retro-printer" as host. Hooked up the C-64, it printed out "READY" with the Open 1,4 and CMD 1 commands. Going to relax tomorrow. Thanks for your help. Take care.

Glad to hear you sorted out the house electrics - that is indeed much more pressing.

Odd that the latest software update fixed Bitvise - but at least it is now working!

Have a good Christmas.

Update. I tested the Cardco "Card / Print B" and "Card / Print +G" (remove the Retro-Printer Pin 18 Jumper) and the Micro R&D "Micrografix MW-350" (Rom v1.91) (using only Retro Printer Pin 18 jumper) on both the C-64C and the Ultimate64. All of the printer interface's worked with the C-64 using a HP Envy 5530 USB Printer. As of right now, only the Micrografix MW-350 (has HP Thinkjet settings) worked with the Ultimate64. I suspect with the Ultimate64, there may be a 5V problem with the U64 cassette port and the interface connector. It was real hard to get on and off. Plan to replace the old style white connector with the new blue connector, like what Thefutureis8bit uses on their SD2IEC drive. Take care.

Ken
