BBC Master

Post by Bill_B »

I've connected V4 to a BBC Master. It shows up on a networked Mac OK. It found two Epson printers on the network (wired) and I configured one as the default server printer. When I print the files appear in the eps, pdf and raw folders but nothing is printed. The test printer option works fine. I can access the settings via SSH but I'm not sure which setting to use. I presume the system will print automatically so I would be grateful for any advice.

THere was a bug fix in v3.15 of the software which may be the solution.

However, by default the setting for output_printer is No.
You need to open a console window over SSH and enter the command:

Code: Select all

nano /root/config/output_printer
Ensure the setting is yes, and then restart the Retro-Printer.

A quicker way of restarting the Retro-Printer software (other than powering down) is to use the command:

Code: Select all

/home/pi/temp/sdl/escparser/retroprinter-restart.sh

Many thanks. My manual stated that the default for printer output was yes. So I didn't look. I checked and it was no. Correcting this all is well and the there is output from the networked printer. Thanks for the restart tip.

I suppose the question is what should be the default for output_printer ?
