Unable to delete PDF files or other files from Retroprinter

Post by AmstradCPCcool »

Hi there,

I used to be able to delete files from my Retroprinter quite easily, especially the PDF files, to provide more space on my SD card. Up until recently I have been unable to do this. I have changed the settings quite a few times to install different printers etc, could this be the cause ?

Everytime I try to delete a PDF file or Epson file I get a message stating I need to get permissions from the Unix root directory. How can I configure my system to fix this issue ?

Hi - it all depends - which version software are you using on the Retro-Printer and how are you trying to delete the files?

I assume you mean using the remote network drive from Windows. I updated the settings in /etc/smb.conf to allow deletion, but it is possible that I did not copy the updated version over to the software version you are running!

HI,

Yes I am using the remote network on Windows. I'm using the version from two years ago.

I would recommend upgrading to the latest version - if you use Bitvise SSH to copy all of your files over from /root/config to a PC and then copy them back to the new SD card, everything should work as previously.
