There is a small modification we have decided to make to the v2 PCB which allows all three LEDs to be controlled by the software.
This will allow us to ensure that the busy LED shows more brightly for all speeds of data transfer (!) and also will allow us to add hooks to the software so that the LEDs can be controlled through an API to show different statuses.
This will enable us to show an error status (OFFLINE LED flashing?) and also change the start up sequence so that none of the LEDs are lit until the software is actually started up and waiting to receive data.
One other benefit of these changes will also be that we can change the offline switch to a momentary push switch which allows for a wider range of options for when we create a case
Any comments or suggestions are of course welcome.

Re: LED control
This has now been resolved in the v3 PCB
See http://forum.retroprinter.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=4 for details on how you can control the LEDs in your own software
