Amstrad CPC6128 and v3 Retro-Printer Module

Hi guys,

I have recently purchased the v3 Retro-Printer Module for my Amstrad CPC 6128 and I am finding it difficult to find the appropriate lead to connect the module to the computer.

Can you suggest where I can find a suitable lead?

It is unfortunate that the Amstrad CPC (like the ZX Spectrum+2 and +3) used an odd edge connector for adding a printer cable.

No idea if that will work on the Schneider version of the CPC as I know they changed some of the port connectors!

I actually bought the cable in the link and one end fits the Amstrad CPC6128 ok with extra pins, but the other end is a 50 pin and the Retroprinter needs a 36 pin end.

Is there any lead or adaptor that can convert this 50 pin end to a 36 pin as required by the Retroprinter?

Hmm - you are correct that is NOT the right cable.

I am sorry - I don't know where you would find a standard centronics cable for an Amstrad CPC - I will ask Zaxon on our sister site, SellMyRetro.com - he may be able to make some of these.

I have asked, but he is not interested at the moment - there is simply no profit in it for him as the parts are so expensive. I have also asked on the CPC group on Facebook.

I found this lead on ebay, its got a few more pins than a normal Centronics (36 pins).
