Hi guys, nice project!
I use an old but quite valued piece of audio test equipment which does many nice things, but the only way to save data is to print to - you guessed it, an Epson dot matrix. A few years ago I made a PIC based prototype which captured the printer port data and saved the raw file to a USB stick. I could then use an application called PrintCapture which I purchased to convert that file to png. It works pretty well, although the hardware was a mess of wires.
The PrintCapture app seems to be no longer available and I've had someone ask me to make another of these. I am thinking of making an improved version anyway that does the conversion as well, and I wondered if you would have any objection to my using your ESC/P conversion code to get a bitmap from the data? The image is rather small - 360x280pix, B/W. I'm sure this would do it well. I can then convert the bitmap to png with other routines, which fits a bit better for my purposes. this should be do-able, right?
Using the ESC/P code
Re: Using the ESC/P code
I assume you are referring to the GPL version of the PrinterToPDF code - https://github.com/RWAP/PrinterToPDF
This can be used in your own project without any problems; subject to the GPL code license (basically you need to share your own code also) - see https://github.com/RWAP/PrinterToPDF/bl ... er/LICENSE
