I’ve found a download for the ROM so will see if I can give that a try

Just compared my rom to 2 rom's I found to download and they are all identical

I did try setting it to Epson (rather than text) mode and at first I thought it was working as the speccy didn’t hang, but I didn’t get any print job and when I tried again it hung again

The epson mode in the Kempston, when it didn't hang, didn't produce anything in retro-printer

However, trying it again a few times this morning and setting it to epson in the kempston is exactly the same as leaving it at text now, must of been a glitch yesterday

I'll try setting simple_spool to Plain_Stream and see what I get

The only thing I've realised is that "COPY" is the token for hex FF

Very odd as obviously character 255 is nothing - but it is captured as the word COPY in ASCII which seems very odd.

We have actually started work on a ZX Token emulator for the Retro-Printer, which can understand the token keywords used by the ZX Spectrum, ZX80 and ZX81.

There is some success so far - but we need to understand a little more about the token format and the spacing around tokens

I've just tried a straight thru cable I've made to connect retro-printer directly to the Opus Discovery's own printer port and I don't get any output of any sort

I've checked the wiring diagram and it seems to match the QL (SGC Printer port) pin out

However, in my Opus cable all pins are currently connected

I was wondering how important "No Connect" actually is please? should I cut all the lines marked NC please?
