Does Pin 18 provide +5v

Hi there I just recieved a Micrografix Parallel Printer Graphic Interface MW-350 for the C-64. Normally it depends on power from the printer. Pin 18 on a printer supplies +5v. I was wondering if the printer port on the Retro-printer supplies +5v at Pin 18. If not, I might need to get a AC adapter, but first need to do further testing and need to get more info. on the power supply. I have tried two different Cardco interfaces (Card Printer B and Card Printer +G).Haven't got these to work, but I think with all of the interfaces, the coponents might need to be placed. I have another Micrografix MW-350 coming tomorrow that has the push-button still on it. The MW-350's have HP Thinkjets list as printers that can be used. (dip switches). Since I have a HP Envy 5530 printer, thought I might have better luck with these interfaces.Take care.

Yes, we do supply +5v on Pin 18 (on the v4 Retro-Printer only) - you may need to ensure that the jumper is in place as per section 1.7 of the manual. Likewise, +5v is supplied on pins 13 and 32 by default (but can also be disabled by virtue of these jumpers).

After not using the Retro-Printer(it was still hooked up to my Micrografix MW-350 and the HP Envy 5530 printer) for about a year, I tried to use it, but it was working only sometimes. Tried different setups, even opened up the Micrografix MW-350, everything semed ok, except the Rom had corroded legs. Took some sand paper and lightly scuffed them and sprayed some electronic cleaner. Still had the some problem. Well it turn out that the Micrografix MW-350 wouldn't work with the JiffyDos Rom install in the Ultimate 64. I put a Kernal Rom in for the Kernal selection in the Ultimate 64, everything works. Have the Micrografix MW-350 plugged into the second serial port on my DIY Chris 1581 and the centronics plugged into the Retro-Printer. Have the Micrografix dip switches set to 1 and 3 for Thinkjet emulation . FYI if you use a Ultimate 64. Take care.
